Denali Highway, Alaska

After the Dalton Highway, The Denali Highway Is the second highest road in Alaska. The road is around 135 Mike long, starting from Cantwell to Paxson. The start and the end of the road are paved leaving around 110 miles of length for off-roading which is covered with gravel. The Denali Highway is a tough trail and is only for rough, experienced, and skilled bikers as the road is filled with gravel and potholes.

There is almost no cell reception and services on the road so it’s advised to come prepared with snacks, water, a toolkit, and a first aid kit in case something happens. While on the road you should not stop for too long because there are a lot of mosquitoes. It’s also advised to not ride on the Denali Highway during rainy or foggy days.

Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

The grand canyon is 277-mile long and is one of the grandest canyons in the whole world. The exploration area of the canyon is divided into two parts i.e. The north rim and the south rim. Although there are services available during the loop ride, it’s advised to come prepared with snacks, water, a toolkit, and a first aid kit.

Moser Creek Trail Head, Hyalite, Montana

The Moser Creek Trail Head Is one of the most popular sites for off-roading and mountain biking. It is a 7.4 miles loop with an elevation gain of 750 feet. It’s usually crowded as it’s famous for activities such as Hiking, mountain biking, trail running, and cross-country skiing. The Moser and Lick Creek are the most exciting trails in Hyalite The Moser Creek Trail is famous for activities such as hiking, snowshoeing, trail running, cross country skiing along with mountain biking. The majority of the trail is double-tracked but some patches are hard and single-tracked adding more adventure to the ride. The types of bikes which can be used on this trail are AM, XC, Fat, Adaptive MTB, and gravel. It’s family-friendly and the best part is that you can even bring your dogs with you.

Mud Creek Off-Road Park, Jacksonville, Texas

The Mud Creek Off-Road Park is scattered over 4100 acres including trails such as mudholes, small creeks, Woods, rolling hills, ATV trail loops, marshes, and creek crossings. There’s no noise limit at the park. Vehicles that are permitted in the park are motorcycles and dirt bikes, ATVs, UTVs, and SXS. Whereas SUVs, jeeps, dune buggies, and sand rails are prohibited. Unlike most trails, 2 stroke engines are not prohibited at the Mud Creek Off-Road Park. Camping in some areas of the park is also allowed. The park does not charge any parking fees or tent and Additional vehicle charges. But there are $10 entry fees, a $10 riding fee per OHV, and a $25 RV camping fee. The park was Home to the High Lifter Annual ATV Mud Nationals but its permanent closure was announced in August 2018 and it has been closed since then.

Black Hills National Forest, South Dakota

The Black Hills National Forest offers over 3,600 miles of roads and trails designed for OHV riding. Out of this, around 700 miles of trails are located in the forest and 500 miles of trail roads are connected to all vehicle roads. The forest premises consist of a total of 21 motorized trailheads. In order to ride the trails in the Black Hills National Forest, you are required to buy a permit.

You can purchase this permit from the Black Hills National Forest offices or the Black Hills and Badlands Tourism Association Visitor Center. You can also get this permit from the local vendors. It’s also important to use the map issued by the  Black Hills National Forest and strictly adhere to all instructions. 

The official map provided by the administration specifies the areas and roads which are available and restricted for public use. Also According to the forest park guidelines, you are to thoroughly clean any seeds or Dirt from your vehicles before entering the forest in order to prevent the invasion of foreign species.

Moro Plantation, Northern Maine

The trails at Moro Plantation make dirt bikers fall in love with the place. The plantation consists of more than 1000 miles of trails. The best time to come here to ride the trails starts from spring and continues till mid-December. The Moro Plantation consists of a variety of trails including Muddy & wood trails and dirt roads too. If you are lucky you may spot a bear or moose while riding through the woods. But it’s also advised to be careful because this may be dangerous while you are riding as Black bears can easily surpass the speed of Dirt bikes. 

It’s better not to visit during winters as the area receives as much as 100 inches of snow every year. So you should visit during summer or spring if you are not a fan of the cold. The most popular place to stay here is the Katahdin Lodge. The lodge provides you with direct access to more than 100 miles of ATV Trail including forests, Waterfalls, stream crossings, mud tracks, gravel pits, and many more. The lodge has accommodation for only 25 people at a time so it’s better to book early. Moreover, it’s less crowded as there would only be 25 people at max. Sawtooth National Forest, Idaho

The Sawtooth National Forest located in Idaho is famous for its spectacular and breathtaking views. Another thing it’s famous for except the view is off-roading. It provides one of the best off-roading experiences in the USA. Only some roads of the forest are open for off-roading.

It’s also important to use the map issued by the  Sawtooth National Forest and strictly adhere to all instructions.  The official map provided by the administration specifies the areas and roads which are available and restricted for public use. The most popular off-roading Trails in the Sawtooth National Forest include the Danskin Mountain OHV Trail, Pine, and Featherville Iron Mountain OHV Trail, Mountain Featherville OHV Trail, Smoky Dome Jeep Trail, and the Trout Creek.

The only possible way to stay at the Sawtooth National Forest is to camp. There are many popular camping sites near the forest such as Abbot Campground, Baumgartner Campground, Bear Creek Transfer Camp, Bird Creek Campground, Bowns Campground, Canyon Transfer Camp, Chaparral Campground, Five Points Campground, Hunter Creek Transfer Camp, Pioneer Campground, Willow Creek Campground, etc.

Hatfield-McCoy Trails, West Virginia

The Hatfield-McCoy Trails is one of the largest systems of Trails in the country. These trails stretch all over Mercer, Logan, Kanawha, Wyoming, McDowell, Mercer, Wayne Lincoln, Mingo, and Boone counties. The Hatfield-McCoy Trails are divided into major regions as

• Rockhouse

Rockhouse consists of the majority of the trail length including an extensive range of places to discover. The trails in this region are beginner and intermediate level Trails which means you can enjoy them here even if you are a beginner at dirt biking.

• Bearwallow

Bearwallow is the Trailhead in Logan, WV. Although this Trail has some easy patches, it’s not the best recommendation for beginners. With a mix of Rocky, gravel, rough and hairpin turns this terrain is more suitable for skilled and experienced riders.

• Buffalo Mountain

The Buffalo Mountain is the Trailhead in Williamson, WV. The famous Hatfield-McCoy Feud and Matewan Massacre sights are visible from this trail. Buffalo Mountains are a mixture of beginner and Expert level tracks.

• Indian Ridge

 The Indian Ridge is a Trailhead in Ashland, WV. This region is not crowded and offers thick forest trails. The Ashland resort is located here. This resort consists of a variety of utilities and accommodation.

• Pinnacle Creek

Pinnacle Creek is a trailhead in Pineville, WV. This trail goes  Deep through the mountains. It’s also worldwide famous for its skiing and whitewater rafting. It’s located near the Twin Falls State Park. The park is renowned for its world-famous waterfalls and ambiance.

• Pocahontas

Pocahontas is the trailhead in Bramwell, WV. It is an advanced level trail only recommended for experienced and highly skilled riders. The trail is open 365 days of the year. The most amazing thing about this trail is the diversity of the trail conditions during Snow. You can find conditions like frozen ground, snow bumps, Muddy puddles, etc. Which adds more to the difficulty, thrill, and adventure the trails offer.

• Devil Anse

Devil Anse is Trailhead in Matewan. The trail is linked to the Rockhouse Trail and Buffalo Mountain Trail. The Trail is almost 300 miles long. Services like lodgings, food, gas, and other things are available on this trail easily. It is located in the center of the Hatfield-McCoy Trails and is Also known as the heart of the trail.

• Warrior

 Warrior is a trailhead in Welch. Services like lodgings, food, gas, and other things are available on this trail easily. It has access to the ATV-friendly City of Gary.
